Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the AdvocateAI platform ("Platform," "Service"), operated by Legal Mindx ("Company," "We," "Us," "Our"), you ("Advocate," "User," "You") unconditionally accept these Terms of Service ("Terms") and all policies incorporated herein by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must immediately cease all use of the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after any modification to these Terms constitutes acceptance of such modifications.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between You and the Company. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and any other agreement, these Terms shall prevail unless expressly superseded in writing by a senior authorised officer of the Company.
2. Eligibility and Registration
The Platform is exclusively available to:
- Advocates enrolled with a State Bar Council of India and holding a valid Certificate of Enrolment;
- Law firms and chambers registered under applicable Indian law;
- Legal professionals in jurisdictions where use of AI-assisted legal tools is expressly permitted under applicable professional conduct rules.
By registering, You warrant that: (a) You are at least 18 years of age; (b) Your Bar Enrolment number is valid and current; (c) all registration information You submit is truthful, accurate and complete; (d) You will promptly update Your information to keep it accurate.
The Company reserves the right to verify enrolment details with the Bar Council of India or any State Bar Council and to terminate accounts found to be fraudulently registered.
3. Description of Services
AdvocateAI provides AI-assisted legal tools including, but not limited to:
- Document Drafter — AI-generated first drafts of plaints, written statements, petitions, contracts and other legal instruments;
- Case Analyser — AI-assisted analysis of case documents, evidence summaries and strategic observations;
- Legal Research — AI-powered search and summarisation of statutes, judgments and secondary legal materials;
- Client Intake Management — structured intake forms and matter creation tools;
- Matters Dashboard — organisational tools for managing active client files.
All outputs generated by the Platform are preliminary drafts and research aids only. They do not constitute legal advice, legal opinion, or a substitute for the independent professional judgment of a qualified Advocate.
4. Subscription, Billing and Payment
4.1 Free Trial. New users receive a limited free trial permitting a defined number of AI drafts. Trial limits are displayed in the billing dashboard.
4.2 Paid Plans. Paid subscriptions are offered on terms displayed on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated herein.
4.3 Manual / Cash Payments. Where payment is made in cash or by bank transfer and verified by an authorised administrator of the Company, access shall be activated within 24 working hours of verification. Receipts for such payments must be retained by the User for audit purposes.
4.4 Renewal. Subscriptions do not auto-renew unless explicitly stated. The Company will notify You at least 7 days before expiry.
4.5 Taxes. All fees are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for any additional taxes applicable in your jurisdiction.
4.6 Price Changes. The Company reserves the right to revise pricing at any time with 30 days' prior notice. Continued use after the effective date of any price change constitutes acceptance.
5. Permitted and Prohibited Uses
Permitted: You may use the Platform solely for lawful legal professional purposes, including drafting documents for Your own clients and conducting legal research in connection with Your practice.
Strictly Prohibited:
- Sharing login credentials or account access with any third party;
- Using AI-generated outputs without independent professional review and verification;
- Filing AI-generated documents in any court or tribunal without material modification, review and endorsement by a qualified Advocate;
- Using the Platform for any purpose that violates the Bar Council of India Rules, 1975, or any applicable professional conduct rules;
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the Platform's underlying AI models or algorithms;
- Submitting false, misleading or plagiarised content to the Platform;
- Using the Platform to generate content that facilitates fraud, perjury, or any criminal offence;
- Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or mass querying of the Platform's API or interface;
- Reselling or sub-licensing access to the Platform without prior written consent from the Company.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Company IP. All software, AI models, algorithms, databases, interfaces, trademarks, and content forming part of the Platform are the exclusive intellectual property of the Company and are protected under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and other applicable laws.
6.2 User Content. You retain ownership of all documents, case details, and materials You upload to the Platform ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, You grant the Company a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process such content solely for the purpose of delivering the Services to You.
6.3 AI Outputs. AI-generated outputs are provided for Your professional use. The Company makes no claim of copyright in such outputs. However, You acknowledge that outputs may not be entirely original and accept full responsibility for verifying their accuracy and suitability before use.
7. Confidentiality and Attorney-Client Privilege
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any privileged or confidential client information submitted to the Platform is handled in compliance with: (a) the Legal Practitioners Act; (b) Bar Council of India Rules, particularly Rule 17 on maintaining client confidences; (c) applicable data protection laws.
While the Company employs industry-standard security measures to protect data in transit and at rest, the Company is not a legal professional and cannot guarantee that content submitted to the Platform retains attorney-client privilege. You should exercise professional judgment before submitting highly sensitive client communications.
8. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The Company does not warrant that: (a) AI outputs are legally accurate, complete, or appropriate for any specific matter; (b) the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components; (c) outputs comply with procedural requirements of any court, tribunal, or authority.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE SUBSCRIPTION FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE 3 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AI OUTPUTS.
These limitations apply regardless of the form of action (contract, tort, statutory liability or otherwise) and even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Company, its directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) Your use of the Platform; (b) Your breach of these Terms; (c) Your violation of any applicable law or Bar Council rule; (d) any third-party claim arising from documents or filings prepared using AI outputs without adequate independent review.
11. Termination
The Company may suspend or terminate Your account, with immediate effect and without prior notice, for: (a) breach of these Terms; (b) non-payment of subscription fees; (c) fraudulent registration; (d) conduct in violation of Bar Council of India Rules; (e) any use that exposes the Company to legal liability.
You may terminate Your account at any time by contacting support. Termination does not entitle You to any refund of pre-paid subscription fees except as expressly provided herein.
Provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13) shall so survive.
12. Modifications to the Platform
The Company reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time without liability to You. The Company will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of material changes affecting active subscriptions.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
13.2 Jurisdiction. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at [City, India].
13.3 Arbitration. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual consent. The seat of arbitration shall be [City, India] and proceedings shall be conducted in English.
